Capstone On-Campus Management at Massachusetts College of Art and Design is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented and customer-service minded individual for the maintenance technician position. Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director of Facilities, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for all aspects of facility maintenance, renovation and repair. The Maintenance Technician will participate in a weekly on-call rotation for maintenance emergencies 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
Duties include performing general furniture, plumbing, appliance, electrical, and drywall repairs; assisting in preventative maintenance on HVAC and other mechanical equipment; and snow removal.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and have two to three years’ experience. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
