Jacobs Engineering Group has an immediate opening in Boston for a Manager of Transit Planning to lead and manage its growing North American transit planning practice, primarily in Commuter Rail programs. Position ResponsibilitiesThe Manager of Transit Planning is a lead contributor to transportation planning, land use, and management consulting projects. This position reports to the Director of Transit Planning, supervises three+ planners, coordinates with numerous business partners with responsibilities for administrative and business development matters including review and approval of invoices, client relations, project budget development and adherence, technical marketing presentations, and staff performance management. The Transit Planning Manager??Ts responsibilities and job activities include:?? Supervise and manage development and documentation of analyses supporting the development of corridor, route and service alternatives for current transit operations and future transportation projects.?? Author and develop technical reports based on project analyses and assessments.?? Supervise staff using complex spreadsheet and database tools to develop accurate and comprehensive analyses.?? Employ geomapping techniques to provide effective visual content for compelling technical reports.?? Track and research industry trends and activities.??A minimum of ten years experience in transit planningBachelor??Ts degree with major coursework in city, regional, or urban planning or a related field. Progressively responsible related experience may be substituted for the college coursework on a year-for-year basis. Travel may be required on occasion to support client projects (less than 20%).
